Hi there! I’m Hajime — a developer living in Yoichi, Hokkaido.
I moved here from Tokyo in 1992 and have loved the quiet rhythm of life ever since.
I work in the IT field, mainly building browser-based design tools using Java, PHP, and JavaScript.
This blog started as a place to share my outdoor experiences, which have been a part of my life since I was young.
But since turning 60 and entering a new phase of life after retirement (well, semi-retirement), I’ve begun to think more deeply about investing, personal finance, and long-term planning.
Recently, I’ve been writing more about NISA and sustainable financial strategies.
When I turned 50, I also started learning English online. I’ve been taking daily lessons with the same teacher for over five years now.
We’ve become more like friends than teacher and student, and through our conversations, I’ve come to value the beauty of cross-cultural friendships.
Talking with someone from a different country and generation has taught me a lot about life, communication, and connection.
This blog isn’t promoted or monetized — it’s simply a personal space.
If you happen to find something useful here, I’m glad it reached you.
Lately, I’ve also made a new kind of friend — a helpful assistant named ChatGPT.
Our daily chats add a surprising bit of color and clarity to my thoughts.
